General:

1. WHAT AREA DO YOU WORK IN?

 

I live and work in Zululand, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Majority of my shoots are done in Richards Bay, Empangeni and Mtunzini.

2. DO YOU TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF YOUR GENERAL WORKING AREA?

​

Yes I do travel outside of these areas. The travel cost and accommodation (if necessary) will be added to the fee.

4. DO YOU HAVE SPECIALS?

​

Yes I do run specials. You should follow my social media pages to see when I run specials and competitions.

5. WHAT TYPE OF PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU DO?

​

I do a variety of photography including weddings, family shoots, portraits, model portfolio's, events, maternity shoots etc. 

My style is creative, I love to add props and try new ideas. My favourite shots will always be of someone laughing or something very creative, however, I understand that everybody has their own style and therefor different tastes in photographs. For this reason I believe that you, the client, should have access to ALL of the photographs that I took (edited and unedited).

6. DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?

​

I require a 50% deposit for all shoots to confirm the booking (unless we arrange something personally).

7. CAN YOU ARRANGE AN ASSISTANT OR A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?

​

YES. Although Tay Photography was started with my own vision I am blessed to have very supportive friends and family. I have a second photographer who I work with at big events such as weddings. You can request a second photographer and speak to me about anything you may want. Please be aware that for last minute bookings I may not be able to arrange a second photographer so booking in advance is essential.

8. HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

​

I have a variety of packages depending on what you are looking for. You can also talk to me about designing your own unique package that caters to your specific wants and needs.

9. HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL I RECEIVE?

​

How many photos you receive will depend on the package itself. I take A LOT of photos and you will receive them ALL (edited and unedited). Besides from the edited pictures I also shoot using a documentary style to ensure that you have picture perfect memories to last your lifetime.

10. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

​

I generally try to work quickly however I do not ever want to "rush" the editing process. 

​

11. CAN I HAVE MY UNEDITED PHOTOS? 

​

Yes you can have ALL your photographs, including the unedited photos. I am aware that this is not what most photographers do (I am scandalous, I know) but I have my own beliefs. I believe that every individual has their own style, likes and dislikes. This means that the photos which I decide are the best and edit may be the best from a photographers point of view but you, the client, deserves to be able to get the bloopers and all the unedited memories too.

12. CAN I EDIT THE PHOTOS MYSELF?

​

NO! Although I give you the unedited photographs you may not edit them yourself or get someone else to. The reason for this is that they will still be representing "Tay Photography" and if you edit them using an app to make them look "funky" etc people may very well assume that is the photograph I gave you. If you would like a certain style of editing (lots of black and white, very edited, minimal editing etc.) please feel free to talk to me in advance and we can make an arrangement.

13. DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS?

​

Yes I do edit my photographs. This process can be very time consuming (more so than taking the pictures themselves).

14. ARE YOU WILLING TO MAKE A UNIQUE PACKAGE TO SUIT MY NEEDS?

​

Yes. I am willing to work with you to design a package uniquely tailored for your wants and needs. Just chat with me and I will do all that I can to get you exactly what you want.

15. CAN I MEET WITH YOU PRIOR TO OUR SHOOT? 

​

Yes most definitely. I am happy to meet up with you for a cup of coffee, in fact all wedding packages include meeting with the bride and groom in advance.

16. HOW MANY HOURS WILL OUR SHOOT BE?

​

How long I shoot will depend on what package you have selected.

17. HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

​

For all wedding packages you will receive a flash drive (aka memory stick) with ALL of your photographs on. 

​

18. DO YOU MAKE ALBUMS OR PRINT PHOTOGRAPHS?

​

You can chat to me about creating an album, getting photos printed, printing photos onto canvas etc. I will always do all that I can to ensure that you get what you want out of your picture perfect memories.

19. HOW DO I BOOK YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC SERVICES?

​

You should choose a package you would like and then make contact with me. We will discuss your photo shoot, my availability etc. We will then confirm prices. A 50% deposit is required to book.

20. WHAT TIME OF DAY SHOULD OUR PHOTO SHOOT BE?

​

The best natural lighting for photo shoots in early morning (just after sunrise) or late afternoon (just before sunrise)when the sun is low in the sky. The exact time will depend on your package as to how long the shoot will be and on the season as well as the weather.

21. WHAT LOCATION SHOULD WE USE?

​

The location for each shoot depends on what type of shoot. You can be creative with the location. It can be anything from the beach, a picnic in a field, at home by the pool with your pets, the railway tracks etc. You should consult me on location as I will be able to tell you if a location is suitable or not. Please also keep in mind that if the location is out of my area I will have to include basic travel costs.

22. SHOULD WE BRING ALONG PROPS?

​

I absolutely encourage props! The props you use should match the photo shoot theme. The reason why I am such a huge fan of props is because it adds depth and realness to the photographs. A photo shoot can be an intimidating thing but with props there are so many more options and poses that can be done. When you book a shoot with me we will discuss props and I will give you a list of appropriate props.

23. WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

​

This depends on your type of shoot. For shoots including multiple people it is always best to co-ordinate outfits that look good together. The most important aspect is that you feel comfortable, if you don't feel comfortable it will show in the photographs. Pastels look great on the beach. For packages with more than one outfit it is best to get completely different looks (different fashion styles, different hair, different make-up). You can chat with me about ideas or even send me pics of the outfits you have in mind and I will give you my opinion.

24. DURING WHICH STAGE SHOULD WE DO OUR MATERNITY SHOOT?

 

You should always feel comfortable in your own skin and that should be taken into consideration when you are planning your maternity shoot. The emphasis should be on the "bump" so normally the shoot should take place between 32-34 weeks. If you are showing heavily it can be earlier. The final decision is up to you as a client.

25. HOW EARLY SHOULD I BOOK YOU?

​

Bookings should be made earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment. If your booking is too late, even if I am available, I may not be able to arrange all the finer details. I take booking up to 12 months in advance.

26. WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

​

If it is raining we can reschedule the shoot to a date that suits both of us. We can make the call on the day or the day before depending on the weather man and the heavens above.
